There's a muscular quality to this image which goes way beyond the subject itself. Partially it's the lens distortion which creatively brings this corner of that lock into our face. Partly it is the toughness of the cropping, making it clear ... indeed bellowing... your subject's function.
And patly it is the darkness of the image it is in the dark where hardness lives, at least in our imaginations.
